Conventional animal feed is criticized for its nutritional quality and applications as feed for farm animals, aquacultures, and poultry. lack of essential nutrients in animal feed affects the growth and productivity of fish, animals, and poultry birds. To overcome the situation of low-quality animal feed, modification and fortification of nutrients in animal feed are a must. Microalgal biomass is rich in proteins, carbs, essential fatty acids (EPA, DHA), amino acids, peptides, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, etc. Due to these promising nutritive components, algae have received considerable attention to be fortified with feed and fodder. Algae-based food application to reduce methane production by farm animals is also a novel topic of research. Therefore, algae have a tremendous potential to make the feed and fodder of the best quality.
